Elite Skills Capture Question
Hi all, I am trying to cap Stunning Strike for my Paragon. The only problem is that my paragon isn't that far in the game.
I know I can cap this with my ele who has completed all three campaigns if I make his secondary a paragon. Now, my question is once I change his secondary back to ranger, will I lose that elite skill on my paragon? Thanks for the help! |

you'll still have to cap it with your paragon unless you use an elite skill tomb for your para

Really?
what is an elite skill tomb and where do i get it? ======== Edit: Did some Googleing and found what they are and where they come from. Can I get a tomb with my ele and give it to my paragon? I've never even dabbled in hard mode. The site I found makes it sound like any boss will drop one. Is it a guarantee or do I just have to get lucky? It's a TOME not a tomb. One is a book and the other is something people put you in once you're dead.
They drop from Hard Mode creatures. Elite Skill Tomes only drop from bosses in HM. |

PvE characters only have elite skills they capture themselves, except that they can use a TOME to learn a skill if it has already been unlocked by any character on the account.

Cap it with your Ele to unlock the skill. Buy an elite Para tome (maybe like $15k?), give it to your Para. Now you can use tome to give elite skill to your para.
You could try to farm in HM with your Ele for the Para tome. Tomes drop enough, but it could still take awhile to find. Maybe worth the money depending on how much your need the skill. You can also use this procedure to let your character use skills your heroes have unlocked either through hero skill trainers or the free skills you get when you acquire a hero. Use a skill tome (not elite, here). They drop more frequently. |

You can also unlock skills (regular and elite) using faction, and then use a tome to learn it on your pve character.

No, unlocking a skill is account based. Once something is unlocked, it's unlocked across all your characters. However, you still need to either cap it with that character, buy it with that character (plat or faction depending) or use a tome to put it on that particular character. Unlocking just makes it available to do so, regardless of PvE or PvP. Same with weapon upgrades, etc.
On the side -- it always ticked me off that I could have a hero with a skill, and it's unlocked, but I have to pay $1k to get it onto my main character so he could use it himself. In the other direction, if I cap a skill or learn a skill, my hero has access immediately. Ehhh |
